Software Engineer, Backend

What you’ll achieve: 

• Design and build new backend API and platform features
• Work on improving the performance and reliability of API endpoints
• Collaborate with your team to create efficient solutions that address developer pain points
• Support the scaling of the platform as it grows, focusing on backend development and optimization

What we're looking for: 

• Strong problem-solving skills, with a focus on understanding complex issues and breaking them down into manageable tasks
• Experience scaling production software, or a willingness to dive in and learn
• Pragmatic, business-focused approach with an understanding of balancing speed, quality, and business impact 
• Empathy for users and developers, always considering the real-world implications of the solutions you build
• Openness to learning new technologies and programming languages as needed
• Clear and thoughtful communication, both in written and spoken form
• A collaborative team player who enjoys working cross-functionally to achieve shared goals

Bonus points: 

• Experience building public APIs 
• Experience working with distributed systems
• Familiarity with monitoring production systems and optimizing performance
• Proficiency with tools like TypeScript, Node.js, React, Redis, Postgres, Docker, and Elasticsearch
