About the role

Our partner is on a mission to create a game-changing online payment infrastructure, empowering merchants worldwide to boost their card payment success rates. As a Data Scientist in the algorithm team, you'll be the bridge between deep domain expertise and cutting-edge data science. 

Your role? 

To dynamically fine-tune card scheme messages and transaction verifications, increasing the chances of issuing banks authorizing payments. 

Here's what you'll be doing: 

• Craft machine learning and statistical models to tackle complex business challenges using large-scale data sets 
• Define metrics, uncover insights, and design experiments to measure impact and guide business decisions 
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to shape and execute product strategy 

What you'll bring to the table: 

• 4+ years of industry experience and an advanced degree (PhD or MS) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Engineering, Sciences, Computer Science, Economics) 
• A knack for communicating analysis results to executives and cross-functional teams, influencing strategy 
• Expertise in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and/or statistical/mathematical software (e.g., R) 
• Mastery of machine learning and statistical modeling to drive data-informed decisions 
• Experience in technology, financial services, and/or high-growth environments is a plus
