About the role

Our partner is looking for an Assistant Accountant to play a crucial role in their Finance Team. In this position, you'll be at the heart of their accounting operations, ensuring precision in financial transactions and contributing to the company's overall financial health.

Your financial adventure will include:

  • Processing accounts payable and receivable transactions diligently
  • Constructing precise balance sheet reconciliations 
  • Maintaining fixed assets registers with meticulous care
  • Supporting the creation of management financial statements and reports
  • Managing payroll tasks with empathy and accuracy
  • Contributing to month-end and year-end close processes
  • Upholding company policies with integrity
  • Collaborating on various finance projects, bringing your unique perspective
  • Preparing BAS statements and other statutory reports with confidence

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 1-3 years of accounting experience (tech or start-up experience is a plus!)
  • A solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero) and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with payroll processing
  • An eagle eye for details and top-notch organizational skills
  • The ability to work independently while being a supportive team player
  • Strong communication skills to build great relationships across the company
